Maybe a lot of people here do not study history, if you study history, you would have a better picture what is going on recently. All these events are not happening suddenly. China has been the most advance empire during the last 4000 years, but during the last couple of hundred years which rule by the Qing Dynasty, unfortunately the King of Qing Dynasty encourage people study art and enjoy life but neglect the power of the military buildup. So it gives the Barbarians the chance to invade. Together there are 8 nations which led by USA, France, Britain, and Germany invaded China when it was at the weakest point in history during the late 1800’s and early 1900. The recent events shows those nations invaded China during 1900 are afraid of China getting stronger and stronger, therefore always try to evilize China and try to weaken China from within, just like the Tibet event. During the last 30 years, China from nothing to become the #3 economy in the world, no nation in the history of mankind can achieve this progress in such a short period of time, therefore all those nations invaded China were afraid.

One very possible reason for getting this kind of response from Paris is that it is one of the 4 other cities that was competing with Beijing in 2001 to hold Olympics 2008.

Their petty personality made them want to revenge and make China look bad since they didn’t manage to get it.

I think this whole Tibet thing is out of hand. It’s taken as an opportunity to slam China. I feel that the west is meddling in too many affairs but they never did meddle in their own affairs. That is perhaps one reason why terrorists are so against the western countries, because they keep interfering and showing their deep biasness. By asking for boycott of Chinese Olympics but not for the past Olympics when there are human rights issues involved, they have shown that they are fundamentally, just a normal racist.

The French has given themselves a slap in their own face. If they are so for this so-called freeing of Tibet, then why don’t they start freeing Corsica now?

I am utterly disgusted by how the Olympics Torch Relay went through in Paris. Despite the poor protection of torchbearers from the local police, even some local officials address views against China Olympics in public.

Some protestors where paid 300 Euro by anti-China organizations to take part in the disturbance, they have no idea on where is Tibet located. They are called the ‘lunch box protestors’. Even some Chiense students studying overseas were approached by these organizations.

The Paris Goverment Officials even hanged a banner supporting independence of Tibet on the window of Hôtel de Ville (French for “City Hall”).

That’s why the relay organizers decided to put off the torch and the whole relay team passed by Hôtel de Ville by bus instead of running across. Why should they keep the torch burning at places where it is not respected?
