Well, I am not trying to seek attention by putting some funny post titles. This is really happening in the Hall of Residence I am staying at.

Just came back from school after settling some admin matters, and saw this email sent to all residence from the Hall Office.

Dear Residents,

Please read the email below if it concerns you. The police has arrested the culprit on 20 Dec 07 who stole clothes and undergarments in NTU halls.

Here I would like to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Joyous New Year.

Regards,

Notice:

This is in regards to the case of arrest of a male subject at Hall ** for theft of undergarments on 20 Dec.

Based on information given by us, police came earlier this afternoon again with the subject and found 6 more bags of undergarments and clothes in the vehicle.

The police has informed us to communicate to all the Hall residents that anybody who has lost his or her clothes and undergarments is requested to go to Jurong Police Station and look for Investigation Officer Inspector Tong on 26th, 27th or 28th of December from 7am-7pm to identify if any of the items in the bags belong to them.

The telephone number of Jurong Police Station is 67910000.

Please kindly inform all the Hall officials to communicate this to all the Hall residents.

First of all, I am very interested to know how did police manage to catch undergarment thief, haha. And how the theft and catch carried through without anyone knowing. Well, no doubt both parties would want their actions to go unnoticed.

And also, refering to the email, who would want to collect back their undergarments, which have been mixed together with other peoples’, and you never know what have been done to them. I think people will have problem identifying even if they want to collect them back. Maybe it is just a SOP for school to provide students with such infomation.

Then again, I really never lose any clothes for the many years in NTU hostel, because I am a guy perhaps?
