I must say that the 2nd Generation iPod shuffle is still a very handy and pretty mp3 player. Although it gave me some minor problems here. For most people who are using the Windows system, you might already have other media players like Windows Media Player, Winamp or foobar for playing your audio files.
However while using iPod, you need to install an additional software called iTunes. Because you may only transfer songs to your iPod using this software. I personally dislike many softwares which can do the same job exist in my computer, hence I searched online and found a software called vPod.
According to its website,
vPod is a program for transferring music to your iPod from Windows. It presents a unified view of all of your music and lets you see what is and what is not already on your iPod. I think that it’s a much more intuitive interface for managing what is available on your iPod than the existing solutions.
I downloaded this tiny (only 219kb in size) software here, and have been using it since few days ago. It’s quite easy to use. All you need is to set your iPod as a storage device, run vPod, and choose the songs you wish to upload.
Just one thing to take note. When you have already uploaded songs to your iPod using vPod, do not run iTunes anymore, because while iTunes is checking the connected iPod, it would erase all the songs uploaded using vPod automatically.
But as I had mentioned here, you HAVE to run iTunes in order to charge the second generation iPod shuffle properly. Hence I would suggest you to run iTunes and fully charge your iPod shuffle first before transfering any songs to your player using vPod.
